MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL PLANNING MEETING HELD IN THE POPPLETON CENTRE, UPPER POPPLETON, AT 7.00PM ON MONDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 2025
PRESENT: – Cllr. E M Jones (Chairman), Cllrs. S P Barry, G R M Bates, R A Harper, J A Hook, C J Lamb and A G Walker. Also present were two members of the public and the Clerk, Mr B J W Mackman.

The minutes of the Parish Council Planning meeting held on 20 January, having been circulated prior to the meeting, were approved and signed.

(b) To note Local Authority Planning Decisions
It was noted that the Local Planning Authority had approved the following applications –
•Ref: 24/01864/FUL – Installation of an air source heat pump to front at 8 Poppleton Hall Gardens, YO26 6LE
•Ref: 24/02240/FUL – First floor front extension and conversion of detached garage to habitable space at 1 Midway Avenue, YO26 6NT.
(c) To note an update on the development behind the Lord Nelson
A report was tabled regarding the situation at the development to the rear of the Lord Nelson. It was agreed that the Parish Council would write to the Planning Department with regards to four elements of the development that are raising concerns from local residents.
The Height of the building is higher that the approved plans by a considerable amount.
The trees of neighbouring properties have been significantly damaged.
Trees on the site have been removed without planning permission.
There is consternation over the drainage from the site which might be contributing to flooding and sinkholes appearing on the drive at Hallgarth Close.

25/035 – TO RECEIVE A REPORT FROM THE LISTED BUILDINGS WORKING GROUP
No progress at present.
25/036 – TO NOTE CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED
CYC Strategic Development Department have information regarding the state of the Local Plan with the Inspectorate and it was noted that the plan will now go to the Full Council for approval on 27 February 2025.
25/037 – TO AGREE THE DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
It was agreed that the next regular meeting would be held at 7.00pm in the Poppleton Centre on Monday 17 March 2025.
