I first moved to Poppleton in 1971 with my family at the age of 4. Since leaving for university and then for work as a secondary school teacher in various places, I maintained my connection with the village through visits to my parents who still live in Upper Poppleton. In 2021 I moved back to the village with my wife, Marina, and our twin boys, William and James. I now work as a freelance expedition supervisor for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and as a tour guide in York, whilst also volunteering as a Scout Leader and on the Poppleton Children’s Sports Day Committee.
On the Parish Council I hope to give something back to the village that has always been my home and to help maintain it as a wonderful place to live.
