Sean Barry

I came to Poppleton in 2008 from Brockenhurst in the New Forest.  The move was associated with my change in job to work at Drax Power Station as Operations Manager. I became a Parish Council in 2015 and Chairman in 2018. I had made contact with the Parish Council during a Planning Consent process, enjoyed the constructive interaction and through that I could contribute to the Council by becoming a Councillor. I live in Poppleton with my family and have found it to be a warm and welcoming community. As a family we love the closeness of the countryside where we are able to walk our dog for miles along the river bank. We like Poppleton because there is a strong sense of community; evidenced at all levels, from the support of local businesses, to the quality and quantity of events, to the immaculate appearance of the village itself.
