I came to live in Poppleton in 1986. My work required me to travel widely about the country and Poppleton is well placed for both road and rail travel. During my time in the village I was Chairman of the Children’s Sports Day and currently am Chairman of the Village Show which takes place in August. Poppleton has a strong village community spirit and while located in the country is close to the amenities provided by York.
I became a Parish Councillor in 2017 because I wanted to do my part to maintain the rural community of Poppleton.
