I came to Poppleton in 1991 to a new house in Upper Poppleton. I became a Parish Councillor in 2008 and have worked with many outside organisations as well as the Parish Council.
With a dedicated group of councillors and in constant consultation with the village groups I was part of the team that wrote the Neighbourhood Plan and learned in the process a great deal about Town Planning and 2011 Localism Act. I think Poppleton is the quintessentially English Village, with a village green, lots of local shops, good services and amenities and lots of clubs and societies. One can never be lonely or bored with so much going on.
