I moved to Poppleton in 1989 from Copmanthorpe. I became a Parish Councillor in 2018 ater attending a public meeting to hear about housing developments in the village. I thought that Planning was interesting and thorough and volunteered to join immediately. I think that Poppleton is an ideal village. It has everything that you need for your whole family life, junior and senior schools with good reputations and high academic standards, social spaces, shops and excellent communications. You can be on the A1 in 10 minutes, by the sea or in the dales within an hour in opposite directions. The people are friendly and welcoming. The conservation area in Nether Poppleton is like a time capsule of the history of the village.
